PUBLIC ARTS

During the months leading up to the Procession, we held informal one-time workshops in public spaces throughout Providence, in which passers-by were able to participate at their own speed. These one-time workshops provided a myriad of materials to create eye-catching Save the Dates in the shapes of fish and frogs that call Mashapaug Pond home. We also briefed participants on the issues facing our urban ponds and how they can help.
This was a great way for community members to become quickly educated about the very real concerns we should all have about the health of our ponds. We encouraged participants to join us for the 2011 Procession and hoped they walked away with a better understanding of the pollution in our waters and encouraged to do their part to minimize it.
